IRCTC Launches New Ticket Booking Website: Book Train Tickets in Just 5 Easy Steps
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced the beta version of its redesigned ticket booking website, offering passengers a faster, smoother, and more user-friendly experience. According to the Ministry of Railways, the upgraded platform has been developed to simplify online train ticket reservations while improving overall performance.
Since its launch in 2002, the IRCTC portal has become one of India's busiest online booking platforms, processing an average of nearly 14.5 lakh train ticket bookings every day.
Passengers can access the new beta website through the dedicated "NEW" option available on the existing IRCTC homepage or directly through the new ticket booking portal.
How to Book Train Tickets on the New IRCTC Website
Step 1: Log in to Your AccountVisit the new IRCTC portal and click the "Login" button. Enter your registered username and password to access your account.
Step 2: Search for TrainsFill in your boarding station, destination, travel date, and select the applicable quota or concession. Click "Search Trains" to view available services.
Step 3: Select Your TrainBrowse the list of trains, check departure and arrival timings, journey duration, running days, and seat availability. Once you've chosen your preferred train and class, click "Book."
Step 4: Enter Passenger DetailsProceed by clicking "Continue Booking" and provide the required passenger information, including name, age, gender, and other necessary details.
Step 5: Complete the PaymentChoose your preferred payment option, including UPI, net banking, debit or credit cards, digital wallets, or payment gateways such as Paytm, PhonePe, and Razorpay. After successful payment, your e-ticket will be generated and the booking will be confirmed.
The new IRCTC website aims to provide a more seamless booking experience by improving navigation, simplifying the reservation process, and offering quicker access to train information and payment options for passengers across the country.
