Earlier, the ED had arrested Ram Binod Prasad Sinha, the then section officer and junior engineer of Kunti, Jharkhand.
Ram Binod Prasad Sinha was arrested after 16 FIRs were registered against him by the Jharkhand Vigilance Bureau.
He was accused of misappropriating Rs 18 crores of MGNREGA funds in 2007–2008.
Later, the ED filed a Prosecution Complaint (chargesheet) against Ram Binod Prasad Sinha.
During Sinha’s questioning, names of senior bureaucrats who could have been part of MGNREGA fund misappropriation were revealed. IAS Pooja Singhal was among others whose names cropped up during the investigation.
On Friday, ED searches were conducted at the residence and official premises of IAS Pooja Singhal, some firms and individuals in Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Mumbai.
IAS Pooja Singhal is presently the mining and geology secretary in the Jharkhand government.
